The photographer

Behind the lens

Chasing light, horizons, and the stories that only reveal themselves when you slow down.

Photographer in the field
How it started

I always wanted a camera from quite young. I'd always circle the ones I wanted in the Argos catalog, aware of the cost and knowing that would never happen until I was grown up enough to pay for it myself.

My interest really took off studying GCSE Art & Design, the teachers were great at encouraging my ideas and seemed to like how I took a different appoach. That reality came crashing down when the college I was going to refused to let me study Photograpgy at A-Level, simply because I couldn't afford to buy my own camera and couldn't use one of theirs.

This took a big toll on me, but since the pandemic I have taken myself back to my roots and worked on levelling up my game - figuring out lighting,  angles and all things in between.

The approach

Seeing the world in the palm of my hand

For me, photography is all about capturing memories, breathtaking views, rich sunsets, dainty clouds and so much more. It's hard not to fall in love with the natural beauty that surrounds us every day. I shoot mostly natural light — golden hour, overcast skies, pretty and picturesque. I'm drawn to landscapes that feel vast yet peaceful, and also plan to do travel photography in future to add to this.

I'm still learning. Most of my photos have been taken on a smartphone, but now that I have a proper camera around my neck? There's no limit to what can be achieved with the press of a button.
